About Kristy Brauch Clougherty

Kristy Brauch Clougherty, is a Master Gardener, citizen scientist, nature educator, and garden consultant specializing in pollinators and their native habitat. A native of Northern California, Kristy continues to make regular family visits to Natural Bridges Overwintering Site in Santa Cruz to observe Monarch butterflies, a tradition she began over 40 years ago.  Kristy continues to use her lifelong experiences to share information that educates the public on best practices for pollinator health and habitat. 

In 2016, Kristy partnered with the Mayor of Pasadena to sign a proclamation titled “The Mayor’s Monarch’s Pledge,” which provided action items to advance the community in helping the plight of the Monarch butterfly. She is the recipient of many grants including a project with US Fish and Wildlife that led to a community garden, a public festival, and many school projects supported by the City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Unified School District. She is passionate about inspiring new generations while engaging the community she serves to make a positive impact on pollinator populations and their habitats. Kristy currently resides in Pasadena, California.
